This is probably one of the hottest news recently.

If you are >18yo and you are a HK citizen, you are eligible to enter the Adobe AIR Developer Derby.

You can create an Adobe AIR application (aka Apollo) and there are several categories to classify your work.

The prize is definitely amazing, which include:

• One Mac Pro 8-core system with 4 GB RAM and 1.5 TB storage
• Two Dell 2707WFP 27-inch widescreen monitors
• One Sony PlayStation 3
• One $200 Amazon.com gift certificate
• One Herman Miller Aeron chair
• One pair of Bose QuietComfort 3 noise canceling headphones
• One copy of Adobe Flex Builder 3, Macintosh edition

9 August is the official Flash birthday, this year is the 10th anniversary, worldwide MMUG will hold gathering this month, MMUG(HK) will hold the birthday gathering at 11 August

There’s some confusion over this matter (even myself is confused) and the answer is:

- If you own Flash 8 or Studio 8, then you can use it for a long time
- If not, then it is a 30-day trial

Honestly speaking, I don’t think Adobe has made it clear on the website. Tho Mike Downey mention that it is in the FAQ, I wonder how many people will really go and read it (and the FAQ button seems not obvious at all).

It’s better for Adobe to make it clear on the first page of the preview release site.

In some way, Bit-101 forum is important in my Flash life. b4 it is down, I visited it everyday to see what the others discuss, try to solve the problems of one another, and learn loads of stuff. It isn’t a large community like were-here, so things are not as “messy” as in were-here, and we members are quite like friends somehow Honestly speaking, it is the only Flash forum that I have visited so often and regularly
